Robert Brown LLC has its foundation based on a lifetime of experience and legal training of our founder Robert Brown. Mr. Brown is a former District Director of the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS). Before rising to the highest levels within the INS Mr. Brown began his career in 1972 as a Special Agent in New York City, from there he moved to INS Headquarters in Washington DC as Deputy Chief of Investigations. After heading up agency plans and coordinating with Congressional staff implementation plans for the Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA) developing the initial Employment Verification system and form I-9, Mr. Brown was promoted to deputy District Director and appointed District Director in 1986 during the Reagan administration. Mr. Brown was recognized by his peers and was elected chair of the Immigration Directors Association in 1992 where he served until leaving INS in 1999.  Mr. Brown’s INS career spanned the administrations of Presidents Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, George H. Bush, and Clinton.

Having worked with three premier law firms of various size of small, regional and national Mr. Brown gained a unique perspective into law practices. Combining the best practices of all his vast experience, Mr. Brown set out to establish an exceptional law practice devoted to the needs of the client with the resources of a large law firm by focusing on one area of law, US Immigration Law.

To accomplish firm goal of providing exceptional legal services Mr. Brown assembled a team of professionals to lead the firm to its current standing. Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio with offices in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina and Orlando, Florida lead attorneys Rishi Oza, Erin Brown Farrro, and Alex Cuic provide exceptional oversight in the respective areas of family and employment immigration law including immigrant and non-immigrant status, naturalization and removal defenses. Our lead attorneys are in turn supported by a staff of dedicated to the individual client needs.

The US immigration law and the implementation of the law by the various US government agencies including Citizenship and Immigration Services (CIS), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Department of Labor (DOL) and the Department of State (DOS) are constantly in flux. Given the complex nature of the law and the ever changing procedural changes a law firm with sufficient resources and dedicated to immigration law is a must in today’s high paced society. Robert Brown LLC is in a position to meet the needs of clients who are looking for lawyers that have the knowledge, experience, dedication and compassion to lead them through the immigration maze.

Our clients come to us from all the various countries, cultures, religions and walks of life that exist in our ever shrinking but expanding world. Having been immersed in immigration and the people coming to the US for more than five decades we understand the needs of our clients. The future of immigration to the US will continue to be in a state of flux and change. Robert Brown LLC will continue to successful meet future immigration challenges.

About Robert Brown

Robert began his lifelong dedication to immigration in 1972 when he began his journey as a special agent in New York City. Having worked with many foreign nationals developed a deep understanding and respect for the persons seeking to migrate to the US. Understanding the difficulties a person faces leaving their homeland to set up a life in a strange world, Robert determined that the immigration law process should be made as simple as possible and the new arrivals be welcomed. Robert has set out to use his vast experience to facilitate the process treating each individual with respect. Robert often speaks of an incident during his first year with immigration in 1972. While traveling in another country Robert was approached by a man whom Robert did not recognize. The man said his path had crossed with Robert’s in New York City where Robert had been working as a special agent with INS. Robert became somewhat apprehensive since Robert was now the stranger in another country. Robert’s apprehension was soon put as ease when the man said, “You treated me with respect when I met you in New York, thank you.” The man went on to offer to buy Robert a drink. Robert never forgot the incident and made it his goal to always respect the needs of others. He continues to enjoy bringing a case to a satisfactory conclusion for his clients.

In Robert’s opinion an immigration law attorney should be prepared to listen to the client and be in the practice area for what can be done for the client and not for what can be gained by the attorney.
