Mr. Leopold is AILA's former president/former general counsel. He has practiced immigration law for more than 25 years, representing individuals, corporations, health care institutions, law firms, religious organizations, and other entities across the nation and throughout the world.
In addition to his full time immigration practice Mr. Leopold is a national immigration reform advocate and legal consultant to the America's Voice Education Fund. He blogs regularly for the Huffington Post and he frequently publishes op-eds in other major news outlets and online journals including The Hill Congress Blog and Fox News. His views on cutting edge immigration legal and policy issues frequently appear in The New York Times; The Washington Post; The Los Angeles Times; The Miami Herald; Newsweek; Time; CNN; ABC Radio; NPR, and The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
Mr. Leopold directed the immigration curriculum at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law from 1997-2011 and at the Cleveland State University School of Law from 2004-2012.
He is also an avid road and mountain biker, skier, canoeist, photographer, weight-training enthusiast, traveler, husband, dad and dog lover.
